Francesco Siddi on Open Movies
A short journey through the history of Blender, the first open source software for modeling, rendering and 3D animation. The experience of Blender and of “Elephants Dream”, the first open movie of 2006, shows how the Internet, if used correctly, does not necessarily create uncritical and passive consumers, but can be an important medium for expressing creativity and sense of belonging to a community. Francesco Siddi works as Technical Director and Producer at the “Blender Institute” in Amsterdam, where he moved after having worked as a freelancer in the world of graphics and 3D previsualization.
